Actress Eva Longoria filed for a divorce from NBA star Tony Parker, her husband of three years, citing irreconcilable differences. The internet rumor mill is busy spinning stories about a possible sordid affair between Parker and the unnamed wife of a San Antonio Spurs‘ teammate. Meanwhile, news outlets are reporting that Longoria, a long-time actor on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, is devastated.
The unfortunate news recalled a tidal wave of similar headlines from the past few years; most recently the separation of Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Celebrity relationships are notoriously short-lived, and I began wondering if it’s even possible to have a healthy, long-lasting marriage in Hollywood. It took an embarrassingly long time for me to think of even one famous couple that has stuck it out for more than 10 years.
Therefore, I decided to use the opportunity of Longoria’s divorce to focus on Hollywood’s role-model marriages rather than celebrity splits. The following celeb couples seem to be the exception to the rule, and we’re rooting for them.
