There is a chance that the Houston Rockets may get Yao Ming back this week.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the 7-foot-6 center could be back by Friday possibly, with Aaron Brooks returning the day after. The paper reports that he would need to get back into condition, and that he's already been doing work on a treadmill which helps limit the amount of weight put on his feet.
Yao hurt his ankle in the Rockets' 98-91 loss to the Washington Wizards on Nov.10. He'd been limited to 24 minutes per game already after having foot surgery in the off season. A team doctor has said his left foot is 100 percent, and there are no problems with the foot's structural integrity.
The former No.1 pick has had plenty of injury issues with his feet: He missed all last season following a hairline fracture during the 2009 playoffs, sat out of the 2008 playoffs because of a stress fracture in his left foot and he also missed games during the 2005-2006 season because of an infected left big toe and broken bone in his left foot.
